Becoming the Lotus

Thank you for your interest in this extraordinary experience that promises to be an astonishing adventure through the ancient land of Egypt. 

The alchemical focus of this pilgrimage is to connect with Elemental Egypt through the Blue Water Lily (Nymphaea nouchali var. caerulea), more commonly called the Blue Lotus, a flower that held such a reverence to be carved throughout the temple walls and columns as well as included into sacred rites and initiations. The Blue Lotus once grew along the banks of the River Nile and was a sacred plant deified by the god Nefertem, son of Ptah and Sekhmet. The flower has long since stopped growing along the riverbank as modern civilization has encroached and changed the river's conditions. Yet, there are some in Egypt who work to bring it back by growing it in ponds in various places in the country.  

As we move through our journey, we will move with the elementals in pursuit of this ancient flower in the outer world of  Egypt, in the mythical and alchemical world of the ancients, as well as within our own spirit as we connect to the essence of who and what Nefertem is within us. To become the Blue Lotus requires the four elements Earth, Water, Air, and Fire as the seed must germinate and sprout in the mud, grow up through the water reaching for the air, and bud then bloom with the heat of the sun. On this pilgrimage we will begin as the seed, germinate, grow, bud, and bloom as we Become the Lotus. 

The guidance we receive both inward and outward, along the journey will be given expression through our connection with the Neteru—the gods and goddesses of the Egyptian Pantheon—who show up to work with us. We will utilize ritual, envisioning, dreams, oracle cards, and writing as we move through the land, along the River Nile, under the sun, and in and amongst the ancient temples of Egypt.

This pilgrimage will take a slightly off the beaten path route. After our sail on the dahabiya from Aswan to Luxor, we will continue by bus from Luxor to Cairo which allows us to experience parts of Egypt that many do not see such as Tel Amarna, Beni Hassan and Khemenu. This journey also includes special private experiences, outside of pubic hours, with the Sphinx of Giza, at the Temple of Philae, and inside the Great Pyramid. 

You are also invite to join an online Elemental Egypt class on 4 Sundays in 2025 (September 7, 14, 21, 28) from 10am to 12:30/1pm pacific. During these four classes, I will introduce a variety of Egyptian deities and explore their relationship to the elements. Please note: All classes are recorded if timing does not align.
