Travel Understandings & Agreements

The Tour Operator, Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, is a subsidiary of Sacred Witness LLC and may be referred to as  as Mysteries of Egypt, Mysteries of France, and Mysteries of Denmark. The various hotels, airlines, bus companies, railroads, ship lines, and sightseeing companies are Travel Suppliers. They are hired independent agents who supply the accommodations, transportation, and other services used throughout the trip. All supplier's coupons, exchange orders, receipts, contracts, tickets, etc. that are issued for this trip are subject to the terms and conditions specified by the specific Suppliers and may differ from Sacred Witness Pilgrimages' terms /conditions and policies. Supplier terms/conditions and policies are in effect separate from and in addition to the terms/conditions and policies included on this page. 

Acceptance of the terms of this travel program and/or such coupons, exchange orders, receipts, contracts, tickets, etc. acknowledges that the registered tour participant is subject to any and all tariffs, terms and conditions under which any such Travel Suppliers, their owners or contractors, or any persons in their employ, may have established.

By utilizing the service of the Suppliers hired by Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, you agree that neither Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, Sacred Witness LLC, Zahra Indigo Rønlov, nor any of their staff, assistants, employees, representatives, tour leaders, teachers, independent contractors, associated individuals, suppliers, and/or providers shall be liable for any of the following: delay or change in flight or itinerary schedule; strikes; loss, damage or injury to your property or person; damage or injury to those traveling with you; death; wrongful or intentional acts; acts of God; terrorist acts; governmental or political actions; civil unrest or hostilities; fires; thefts; pilferage; pandemics, epidemics; quarantine; medical or customs regulations; accidents; for defects of equipment of any Travel Supplier; for any expense or inconvenience caused by late arrivals of any conveyances of such Travel Suppliers; for any expense or inconvenience caused by any changes of schedules; conveyances or accommodations determined by the Travel Suppliers; for any cancellation or disruption of any such services provided by any such Travel Suppliers; for any failure on the part of any the Tour Operator or Travel Supplier to perform by reason of financial difficulty or default, suspension of operation, or other reason; and for any refunds or moneys owed to Travel Supplier in the event of a cancellation.

Neither Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, Sacred Witness LLC, Zahra Indigo Rønlov, nor any staff, assistants, employees, representatives, tour leaders, teachers, independent contractors, associated individuals, suppliers, and/or providers shall be financially responsible to any tour participants in the event of cancellation of all or part of any tour due to acts of war, nature, governmental action; civil,unrest or hostilities, or acts of terrorism, or for the default of any Tour Operator or Travel Supplier, or for any reason beyond control of Sacred Witness Pilgrimages

Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, Sacred Witness LLC, Zahra Indigo Rønlov, along with any staff, assistants, employees, representatives, tour leaders, teachers, independent contractors, associated individuals, suppliers, and/or providers are not responsible for any refunds should a presenter advertised as attending or leading a tour cancel for any reason whatsoever. Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, Sacred Witness LLC, Zahra Indigo Rønlov, along with any staff, assistants, employees, representatives, tour leaders, teachers, independent contractors, associated individuals, suppliers, and/or providers are not responsible for any physical, mental, emotional, or other reaction, trauma, or ailment during the trip or occurring afterwards, that participants may experience at the tour sites or from any leaders, workshops, or sessions of any kind, including private sessions with presenters. Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, Sacred Witness LLC, Zahra Indigo Rønlov, along with any staff, assistants, employees, representatives, tour leaders, teachers, independent contractors, associated individuals, suppliers, and/or providers  are not responsible for any and all discomforts related to the nature of our travel and our work. Registration and attendance on the trip indicates acceptance of this and all other provisions these terms/conditions.

The Tour Operator, or acting Tour Director/Manager/Escort/Leader, shall have the right to decline to accept or to retain any person as a tour participant should such tour participant's health, mental condition, physical infirmity, or general demeanor, and/or behavior impede the operation of the travel program or the rights, welfare, or enjoyment of other travel program participant, and no refund shall be given in such cases. 

The right is reserved to substitute tours or alter itineraries, and Sacred Witness Pilgrimages shall retain the right to cancel any travel program prior to departure or to increase prices if the costs to operate shall rise.

All tour participants are emphatically encouraged to purchase the appropriate travel insurance that include accident and medical insurance, baggage insurance, tour operation carrier default protection insurance, and trip cancellation insurance from a company of their choosing. Sacred Witness Pilgrimages does not endorse any particular travel insurance company. Tour participants are advised to ensure that they understand the full terms and conditions as well as plan coverage of the travel insurance they choose to purchase. Tour participants who opt to not purchase travel insurance understand the Cancelation Policies and any potential loss.

Neither Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, Sacred Witness LLC nor travel supply companies such as airline and busses are not to be held responsible for the late arrival of passengers at airports or hotels due to inclement weather, nor are they to be held liable for payment of, or any refund for, transfers or unused hotel accommodations or meals occasioned by such late arrival at the hotels with rooms reserved for confirmed itineraries. The airlines or transportation companies concerned are not to be held responsible for  any acts; omissions or events during the time passengers are not on board their planes or conveyances. The passenger contract in use by the carriers concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airlines or transportation companies and the purchaser of this travel program and/or passengers.

The Tour Operator and  the Travel Supplier(s) hired by the Tour Operator will provide the travel services identified in the itinerary of the specific travel program, and the tour participant agrees to look solely to the Tour Operator for the provision for such travel services.

Assumption of  Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to COVID-19

COVID-19 is highly contagious and believed to spread from person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and health agencies may recommend social distancing and masks. Sacred Witness Pilgrimages cares deeply about the health and safety of all tour participants, staff, assistants, employees, representatives, tour leaders, teachers, independent contractors, associated individuals, suppliers, and/or providers.

To help ensure the health and safety of all individuals associated with a tour, Sacred Witness Pilgrimages has put in place the implementation of this contractual clause, and reserves the right to require vaccination or testing in order to participate in a tour. 

Sacred Witness Pilgrimages cannot guarantee that tour participants or any of its guests, staff, employees, representatives, tour leaders, teachers, agents, guides and/or individuals who tour participants may have contact during the duration of the tour will not become infected with COVID-19. Tour participants acknowledge and agrees that by engaging in the travel services offered by Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, the risk of anyone involved contracting COVID-19 increases. Further, tour participants acknowledges each county and city may have specific requirements relating to groups or events. Tour participant agree to follow all requirements put in place by Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, and acknowledges that these requirements may change at any point before or during a tour, necessitating changes in procedures and requirements. Tour participants shall comply with all respective country, state and city laws during the receipt of services. If a tour participant violates a current requirement, rule, regulation, or order, whether it be intentional or not, they shall assume the responsibility and liability of the respective risks, and their tour may be terminated without retribution. 

By registering for a tour with Sacred Witness Pilgrimages tour participants acknowledges the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assumes the risk that any of the aforementioned people present may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death.  Zahra Indigo Rønlov along with any staff, assistants, employees, representatives, tour leaders, teachers, independent contractors, associated individuals, suppliers, providers and/or tour participants have the right to wear any and all protective equipment or clothing they personally deem to be appropriate for their health, safety, and related concerns. Further Sacred Witness Pilgrimages reserves the right to require all individuals associated with the tour to use protective equipment or clothing in order to participant in the tour program.

By participating in any offerings by Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, tour participants voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to anyone involved, to themselves, or others in attendance (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that they may experience or incur in connection with engaging services during this time. Participant hereby releases, covenants not to sue, discharges, and holds harmless Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, Sacred Witness LLC, Zahra Indigo Rønlov, along with any staff, assistants, employees, representatives, tour leaders, teachers, independent contractors, associated individuals, suppliers, and/or providers of and from any claims, including but not limited to all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, penalties, fines, legal fees, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto or any ORS or Executive Order requirements. Participant understands and agrees that this release includes any Claims, Misdemeanors or Penalties based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, Sacred Witness LLC, Zahra Indigo Rønlov, along with any staff, assistants, employees, representatives, tour leaders, teachers, independent contractors, associated individuals, suppliers, and/or providers whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before,during, or after participation in the services.

Medical Emergencies

If the participant is unable to continue on a tour due to illness or an accident, Sacred Witness Pilgrimages will assist in arrangements to help them rejoin the group when able. If unable to rejoin the group, they will then no longer be on the tour or under Sacred Witness Pilgrimages responsibility. In this case, the participant will need to work with their embassy, family, and/or friends to make arrangements for returning home. Sacred Witness Pilgrimages is not liable for any additional cost incurred for medical emergencies that may occur during a tour that results in doctors visits, hospital stays, extended stays at a hotel, and/or any additional cost associated with the needed care. It is highly recommended that all participants travel with money set aside on a credit card or bank account in the event of a medical emergency. Often costs are needed to be paid up front and then a claim can be made to to get reimbursed from travel insurance.

The Tour Policies listed in this section apply to all tours which Sacred Witness Pilgrimage collects all participant payments. If Sacred Witness Pilgrimages is hired by a Tour Leader to manage a private tour and the Tour Leader, rather than Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, will be processing all participant registration and payments, then they will have their own separate Tour Policies in place which they will provide during the registration process. 

In this case, it is important to understand that the Terms & Conditions and Agreements on this page apply to ALL tours operated by Sacred Witness Pilgrimages regardless of who is collecting payments. 

Payment(s) are to be paid directly through an invoice that will be provided after your Registration Form is received. Accepted payment methods are Checks (preferred - US banks only), ACH Bank Transfer (preferred - US banks only), credit card (a 4% service fee will be added to the total), or International Bank Wire (a 4% service fee will be added to the total).

The tour balance must be paid in its entirety no later than 4 months before departure. The deposit, or full payment, will secure a spot on the tour, unless the tour is full. If full, please see Waitlist Policy below. 

If you pay your balance in full at registration, you will receive a $200 discount and the deposit amount as outlined in your tour documents still applies as per the Deposit Policy. 

Typical Payment Schedule (a specific payment schedule will be provided for each tour):

• Deposit — Due within 5 days after registration 
• Payment #1 — Due 10 months before the tour start date
• Payment #2 — Due 8 months before the tour start date
• Payment #3 — Due 6 months before the tour start date
• Final Payment — Due 4 months days before tour start date

In special circumstances, an alternative payment plan may be considered if necessary to allow your participation. An alternative payment plan from tour's schedule will add an additional $300 to your total. If you default on the payment plan schedule by not making payments on time, this alternative payment plan fee of $300 will automatically be added to your balance. It is your responsibility to ensure you have marked your calendar with the payment dates, and to access your invoice to pay via the link inserted in your Pilgrim Information Letter provided once your registration is received. 

If you register for a tour in the middle of the payment plan schedule, all payments up to the date of your registration are due unless an alternative payment plan has been agreed to. 

If your final payment is not received within 2 weeks after the final due date, a $500 late fee will be added to your invoice.

Sacred Witness Pilgrimages reserved the right to terminate your tour without refund if:

• you do not communicate with Sacred Witness Pilgrimages and/or you fail to make payments as agreed.
• your full payment is not received before departure. 

Sacred Witness Pilgrimages reserves the right to increase the cost for this trip due to inadequate sign-ups or increases in supplier cost that otherwise make the trip economically infeasible to operate. 

Main Tour:

Typically the deposit for a tour is $2000 or as listed for each tour. This deposit amount also applies if the participants pays the Package Price in full at registration. 

The full amount of the deposit is non-refundable if the participant cancels, the cancellation falls under Other Cancellations, or the participant's participation is terminated. If Sacred Witness Pilgrimages cancels the trip, $1000 of the tour cost is non-refundable and the remaining amount paid will be refunded. 

If you hold a Travel Voucher or have a Tour Credit, this can be applied to your balance due. Travel Vouchers and Tour Credit are not refundable or redeemable for cash.

Extensions:

If a participant adds additional days outside of the tour, or a special extension is created to other locations in Egypt before or after the main tour, the deposit is 20% of the extension price. In the event that the participant cancels, cancelation falls under Other Cancelations, or the participant's participation is terminated, this 20% is non-refundable. If Sacred Witness Pilgrimages cancels the extension, 10% is non-refundable. The remaining amount will be refunded as per the Refund Schedule below.

If a tour fills, you can request to be on the Waitlist List by following the registration process for the tour you are interested in. 

1. To secure your place on the Waitlist List, receipt of the tour Registration Form, the Tour Deposit, and a signed Release Form is required. Remaining payments will be collected only if you get a spot.  
2. If you are granted a place on the tour, all payments as per the Payment Policy will be due within one calendar week of confirmation of your place on the tour. A space may open if someone drops out or if enough people get on the Waitlist Lists to secure a second boat. 
3. When you are given confirmation that you have a spot on the tour, you have three days to cancel your spot on the Waitlist List to receive a total refund of your Deposit .
4. The Deposit and Cancellation Policies will go into full effect on the fourth day of the date you received notice that you have a place on the tour. 
5. If an opening does not occur, your Deposit will be refunded in full, or if applicable and desired, applied to another tour. 

Participant Cancellation: 

Participant cancellation must be made in writing or email to Sacred Witness Pilgrimages and is effective as of the date received. A refund will be given based on the Refund Schedule below. Participants are responsible for any additional expenses incurred in preparing for their pilgrimage, such as non-refundable advance purchase airline tickets, visa and passport fees, trip insurance, equipment, medical costs, additional nights, etc. Please notes: If participant cancelation is due to the adjustment of the tour name or tour dates this cancelation policy still applies. 

Other Cancellations: 

In circumstances where trip cancellations results from the inability of the trip to depart as scheduled, such as cancellations due to acts of war and/or terrorism, God, nature, pandemics, or for any reason beyond control of Sacred Witness Pilgrimages—Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, Sacred Witness LLC, and Zahra Indigo Rønlov are not liable for restitution and any potential refunds will be determined on a case-by-case basis based on the Refund Schedule. 

Sacred Witness Pilgrimages Cancellation: 

Sacred Witness Pilgrimages reserves the right to cancel a tour due to inadequate sign-ups or increases in supplier cost that make the trip economically infeasible to operate. While we make every effort to avoid canceling trips, if Sacred Witness Pilgrimages determines that trip cancellation is necessary, we will refund your payment minus12.5% of the full tour cost, full travel voucher value, or tour credit. 

Sacred Witness Pilgrimages Participant Termination:

Sacred Witness Pilgrimages reserve the right to terminate an individual's participation in a tour if payments are not being submitted on time AND the participant does not communicate with Sacred Witness Pilgrimages. In the event that Sacred Witness Pilgrimages has to terminate a participant's tour, the full deposit is not refundable. Any additional payments that were made may be refunded as per the Refund Schedule below. 

Any potential refunds will be granted based on the following schedule: 

• Up to 100 days prior to pilgrimage departure: 100% refund (or credit) of payments made to Sacred Witness Pilgrimages as of the date of cancellation letter, minus the full non-refundable deposit or full Travel Voucher value or Tour Credit plus any additional expenses prepaid to Travel Suppliers. 

• 99-45 days prior to pilgrimage departure: 50% refund (or credit) of payments made to Sacred Witness Pilgrimages as of the date of cancellation letter, minus the full non-refundable deposit or full Travel Voucher  value or Tour Credit  plus any additional expenses prepaid to Travel Suppliers. 

• 44 days or less: 0% refund of Tour Cost.

• No refunds will be issued for unused portions of the pilgrimage or program offerings.

Please note: 

• Neither the Travel Voucher Value nor Tour Credit are eligible for a refund. Any additional cash payments will be refunded based on this refund schedule.  
• Clients in the USA will be refunded in the form of a check to the address supplied at registration.
• Clients outside of the USA will be refunded via international wire transfer to a bank of the client's choosing. 

Any refund received shall release Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, Sacred Witness LLC, and Zahra Indigo Rønlov from any further liability.

After the truths learned from COVID-19, Sacred Witness Pilgrimages now emphatically encourages all participants to secure Cancel-for-Any-Reason travel insurance. If you do not, you may still be considered for the tour so long you have the full understanding of the Cancellation Policies and your potential loss. You are welcome to choose a carrier of your choice. Sacred Witness Pilgrimages does not specifically suggest or endorse any particular travel insurance company. 

You understand that any pre-tour meetings and/or classes offered via zoom are recorded for later viewing to allow for review, to be able to catch missed content, or for continued distribution afterwards. By participating in recorded zoom offerings, you give your consent for your participation to be recorded, and understand you can control both your shared video and how your name is displayed on the screen. 

You understand that during our journey, there are many photographs and videos taken from the participants and Zahra Indigo during our travels together. You agree to allow Sacred Witness Pilgrimages to use your image on this website and social media in order to share about past pilgrimages, as well as to promote future travel. You agree to allow additional Special Guest or Teachers to use your image on their website and social media. You understand that you can position yourself within the group appropriately if you do not want to be in the group photos or videos. 

You agree to cite Sacred Witness Pilgrimages when sharing images of your tour on Social Media or websites by using: #SacredWitnessPilgrimages and #MysteriesofEgypt 

You agree to not video any of the teachings or ceremonies without expressed written permission. You understand that the content of all teachings offered during a tour are copyright Zahra Indigo Rønlov and/or copyright of the Special Guest or Teacher, and as such cannot be replicated or shared without prior written permission. 

When you register for a tour with Sacred Witness Pilgrimages:

• You declare that you have read, understand, and agree to everything on this page in regards to Terms and Conditions, Tour Policies, and Travel Understandings and Agreements, which go into effect as of the date your registration is received. 

• The act of registering for a tour with Sacred Witness Pilgrimages shall legally bind you to these Terms and Conditions, Tour Policies, and Travel Understandings and Agreements. You understand that failure to abide by the Terms and Conditions, Tour Policies, and Travel Understandings and Agreements may result in the termination of your participation on the tour with no retribution. 

• You certify that the information you provide through the registration process is correct and that you will inform Sacred Witness Pilgrimages if there are any changes to your contact information, passport information, or international flight information. 

• You acknowledge and agree that Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, Sacred Witness LLC, Zahra Indigo Rønlov, along with any staff, assistants, employees, representatives, tour leaders, teachers, independent contractors, associated individuals, suppliers, and/or providers are not liable for any physical or psychological ailments you may have had, have currently, or may develop during your time on the tour. 

• You understand that Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, Sacred Witness LLC, Zahra Indigo Rønlov, along with any staff, assistants, employees, representatives, tour leaders, teachers, independent contractors, associated individuals, suppliers, and/or providers will not diagnose conditions, perform medical treatment, or interfere with the treatment of a licensed medical professional. It is recommended that you see a licensed physician or licensed health care professional for any physical or psychological ailments you may have before departing on your journey.

• You understand and agree that Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, Sacred Witness LLC, Zahra Indigo Rønlov, along with any staff, assistants, employees, representatives, tour leaders, teachers, independent contractors, associated individuals, suppliers, and/or providers are not responsible for, and you release them from any liability for any accidents, injuries, illness, loss, theft, or any and all other mishaps that might occur for any reason in connection with your participation in travel with Sacred Witness Pilgrimages.

• You understand that you are responsible for you own experience and how you receive what is offered while participating on these pilgrimage. You also understand that this is a group tour, and as such you will engage appropriately and participate fully with the group experience. You agree to peacefully mitigate any conflicts that arise between other participants, teachers, staff, or travel partners. 

• You choose under your own self-dominion to participate in an alchemical pilgrimage offered by Sacred Witness Pilgrimages. You understand that you hold within you the wisdom to learn, grow, and expand yourself when the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects are given attention. With your choice to journey with Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, you acknowledge your intention to bring attention to your unfolding growth and spiritual evolution. 

• You agree to pay for the program as per Sacred Witness LLC  Payment Policy (or if applicable, your tour leader's policies). You fully understand the Payment, Deposit, Wait List, and Cancellation Policies and will submit payments within one week of registering for a tour. If you choose a payment plan, you agree to make all payments as per the payment schedule and will take responsibility to mark your calendar with the payment dates to ensure the payments are made on time. You understand if you do not stick to the payment schedule, a $300 alternative payment plan fee will be added to your invoice and that if your final payment is two weeks late, $300 will be added to your invoice.

• If you hold a travel voucher or Tour Credit and apply it to a tour, you understand that the value of your Travel Voucher or Tour Credit will be applied toward the balance due for your journey and any additional costs or fees are to be paid as per the Payment Policies. You understand that Travel Vouchers and Tour Credit are not refundable or redeemable for cash.

• You understand the Image Release Policy and when sharing photos in social media post,  you agree to cite #SacredWitnessesPilgrimage and #MysteriesofEgypt.

• You understand that if you choose not to purchase Cancel-for-Any-Reason travel insurance for your journey, any and all potential loss will be your responsibility and that Sacred Witness Pilgrimages, Sacred Witness LLC, nor Zahra Indigo Rønlov or associated tour leaders will not be held responsible for retribution beyond the Tour Policies and/or Travel Terms & Conditions. 

• In regard to health and safety, you agree to abide by any and all protocols Sacred Witness Pilgrimages has in place at the time of travel. You understand that these protocols may change at any time before travel or over the course of a tour. You understand that failure to follow these protocols can result in the termination of your participation on the tour with no retribution. You understand that once in the country, if you are unable to physically or emotionally participate, accommodation will be made for you to stay at the hotel or on the boat, and that there is no retribution for missed activities. You understand that any alternative accommodations needed outside of the itinerary are your financial responsibility. 

• You understand that the nature of a pilgrimage in Egypt may include hot, dry weather; long days with many early mornings and/or late evenings; time walking around the sites on uneven ground and climbing steps; traversing a plank to board the dahabiya; and immersion in a different culture. 

• For women while in Egypt : Travel in Egypt is safe. It is important to understand that the Islamic culture in Egypt is very different from that of the western world. In the west, eye contact and smiles with men can simply show friendliness, and means something very different than in Egypt. In Egypt these gestures may give the impression that you are physically attracted to and interested in the man. You agree to report any advances from Egyptian men immediately to Zahra Indigo, or your Tour Leader, if they occur during visits and activities or from the team working with Sacred Witness Pilgrimage, even if seemingly friendly and innocent. The men on Sacred Witness Pilgrimages'  Egyptian team have been carefully vetted and have been asked not to exchange  personal information or social media, or form ongoing relationships with participants. The women who join a Sacred Witness Pilgrimages tour agree to not seek or form personal relationships or friendships with any Egyptian men who assist us throughout the tour. Your interest and/or advances, even if seemingly friendly and innocent, can create challenges and problems during the tour and beyond. As such, you agree not to give your contact information to the Sacred Witness Egyptian Team or to become connected with them on social media. This agreement is to help ensure that the focus and energy of the tour is on the group experience and that the trust of the group container remains solid. You understand that if this is not adhered to, it may result in the termination of your participation on the tour with no retribution. 

• You understand that on rare occasion the tour name and/or tour dates may be adjusted after you register. Although we do everything we can to keep the dates as advertised, they may be changed by up to seven days earlier or later. Some reasons for this could be due to domestic flights, hotel accommodations, or private visits not being available during the original dates. All policies remain in effect if the tour name changes or dates are adjusted within this seven day period. Review the Cancelation Policy for more details. 

• You understand that Sacred Witness Pilgrimages reserves the right to update or change the Terms and Conditions, Tour Policies, and Travel Understandings and Agreements at any time as deemed necessary with or without notice.
